Child Watch

Welcome To Child Watch

The Rancho Family YMCA provides drop-in child care for children 8 weeks to 12 years. Our trained, attentive, and nurturing staff engage children in games and activities, read to children, and rock babies when needed.

Child Watch is FREE for Family and One-Parent Family members while using on-site Rancho Family YMCA facilities. Parents must stay on-site. Parents can focus on their workout or take another child swim lessons or dance class, while their child plays in a safe environment.

For the well-being of children, each child is limited to 2 hours per day in the Child Watch facility. Please note that we do not accept children within 20 minutes of closing time.

YMCA Membership Card is required for drop-off and pick-up.

Ratios

Child Watch observes the following staff-to-child ratios:

    • Infants (8 weeks to 12 months) - 1:4
    • Toddlers (13 months to 2 years) - 1:6
    • Ages 3-4 - 1:10
    • Ages 5-11 - 1:12

    Activities and Outside Play Time

    Weather permitting, children will be taken outside to the gated play area. With this in mind, we recommend you apply sunscreen on your child prior to arrival.
